Demystifying the Book Proposal

Demystifying the Book Proposal In-Person

Do you have an idea for a non-fiction book? The first step towards publication is to put together a book proposal. This program answers common questions non-fiction writers have about the daunting process. Presenter Kerri Sullivan sold her book to a publisher in 2020, and during this program she will share what she learned during her experience crafting the proposal, including helpful books and resources. Participants will leave with a greater understanding—and less fear!—of what a book proposal is and how to craft one that will sell.

Kerri Sullivan is a New Jersey-based writer, librarian, and the editor of New Jersey Fan Club: Artists & Writers Celebrate the Garden State (Rutgers University Press).
