Thursday Night Theatre - Man in the White Suit In-Person
Join us in the History Room every Thursday evening to watch a different film in the history, documentary and classic genres (and some others that strike our fancy!)
This week's film: The Man in the White Suit (1951 - 1hr 21min) Sidney Stratton (Alec Guinness), laboratory dishwasher at a textile mill, is secretly at work on the invention of a new fabric that will never get dirty and never wear out. After many trials, the invention succeeds and is brought to the notice of his employer, who invests money and facilities to develop it. However, the trade unions and mill owners are determined that the fabric must never go on the market. Nominated for an Academy Award for Best Screenplay, and BAFTA for Best British Film.
